Is a 3lbs pomeranian consider a teacup?
I know a normal Pomeranian can weight from 3 to 7lbs. But a 3lbs pomeranian should be very small and they would look like a teacup size! I am confused, is 3lbs pom a normal size or teacup?
no as you said yourself she’s within standard. It’s the low end of the correct (normal) size.
teacup is just a stupid word used by greedy BYB and dumb people to get more money for dogs – all the ‘it’ girls have started a ‘doggy in your handbag’ craze and the ‘teacup’ people are just leaping on the bandwagon…….

It depends on where you bought your dog.
If the dog was bought from a greedy backyard breeder, then of course they’ll play the ‘teacup’ card in the hope that somebody will buy it.
If, however, you bought your dog from a reputable breeder, then no, it is probably just a runt, a slightly undersized dog.
There – is – no – such – thing – as – a – teacup – dog. Teacups belong on shelves, not on leashes.

No, for one thing, there is no recognized breed of any kind with the name of teacup, it is what ignorant breeders call them, so people will buy these tiny little bitty puppies, and are not a recognized name of any breed.
on any registration papers, it says the dogs breed, not a
teacup pom, or teacup poodle, or teacup chi, just the breed name, that is because AKC and UKC do not recognize the name attached to these dogs….oh they are pure breeds, with an added silly title that is made up to just sell the dogs for more money..
It is a Pomeranian and that’s all..
but your little dog sounds really cute and so tiny ,be careful and don’t let get too hot or too chilled, since so tiny……
hope you got a health guarantee with the baby.
good luck
Breeder./show/handler 15 yrs
no teacups in the show rings…..

According to the definition of teacup, anything under 5 pounds is a teacup. So some would call it a teacup, even though its size is within breed standards. Same with yorkies.
