I want a Teacup Yorkie puppy, where can I get a quality pup for little to no money?
I have a small home with no other animals, a fenced yard and lots of love to give. I just don’t have the budget to pay for an AKC pup. This is the breed I have fallen in love with and know will fit into my heart and my home.
I have said this before and I’ll say it again, try the humane societies, animal shelters and the like. The odds of finding exactly what you want…well, but keep looking, you might see something else. Some places will put you on list so if what you are looking for comes in they will call you.
Actual teacups are almost always papered because they are of a very special origin, plus the litters usually consist of only one or two pups.
But don’t let that get you down. Each breed has a breed standard, to that standard the breed MUST adhere. Now if a breeder should produce a litter or dog where the pup don’t adhere to that standard the litter or dogs will be fixed and sold as companion dogs. That seems to be what you want.
And they cost a lot less.
Call around, check around, look around…and the best of luck to you!!

The best way to get one of these dogs is through breed rescue programs. It may take a little work, depending on the dog’s previous backgrounds. Some can come from bad homes and others can come from elderly people that have passed away.
I got a German Shepherd puppy this way, and she has turned out very well. Granted, you have to get used to some of their quirks (mine is very afraid of thunder). Still, these rescued dogs are thankful for a new home and become great dogs.

"grimmin18" said exactly what I was thinking…but I’d also like to add that sometimes humane societies, shelters, and rescues will allow you to fill out some information that lets you know that you’re looking for a particular type of dog. When they get a dog in that matches your request, they’ll call you in to come check him/her out. At our humane society here it’s called the MAP (Match A Pet) program. Best of luck and remember that it’s always best to support shelters and rescues, NOT breeders and pet stores (puppy mills).
-edit-
p.s. Cost-wise, humane societies generally charge about $75 for a dog, other shelters can run anywhere from $65-$200…at least from my experience in three different states. It’s NOT a matter of "getting what you pay for." Unlike inanimate material items, the quality of the dog is NOT correlated with an arbitrary price that some HUMAN deems necessary as compensation for a dog. This is a living being you’re talking about, not a pair of pants. Oh, and stealing one from a pet store only ADDS to the demand of the horrible puppy mills that pet stores purchase from – so that suggestion is just low. The way to shut pet stores down is to not create a demand of animals from them. If you steal one, they’ll simply replace it with another unfortunate soul and the cycle continues. If no one buys them/steals them, then they have no reason to carry them.

steal one from a pet store, they are horrible to their animals. Simply ask if you can hold one on a busy day and run away with it when the employees are checking someone out. PS go to a pet store in a different county than you live. If you can steal other poor little animals as well. Pet stores need to be shut down.

If you have a big heart and no other animals and want a great yorkie pup without the big expesne, type in yorkie rescue and find a rescue easily online in your area. I have rescued two mini dachsie’s and the other I have is from a breeder and while people think that rescues are probably full of problems, that’s not the case.
My dog from the breeder is beautiful and wonderful, but has health issues and the 2 from rescue are great and healthy. They adjusted quick and they are beautiful.
Many of the rescue dogs have been moved like children to homes that have other dogs and don’t get along with the dogs right from the start so they are moved to rescue.
Also, some have had owners who died and now they are in rescue or people move or get pregnant and then there is no room for the dog anymore. You can often find puppies and they need homes so desperately.
Rescue gives them their shots and wormer before they leave and they are neutered. Also, the price is reasonable, usually no more than $250, but some go for $100 and sometimes it’s negotiable or you can pay on a plan, not all up front.
It’s just something to think about. You bond differently with rescued dogs because you get some history on their life and you get to be the one to make their dreams come true and they love you back ten fold.
My rescue babies are the best and they have given so much to me that I highly recommend at least checking it out!

There is no such thing as a Teacup Yorkie, only a Yorkie (maximum size 7lb or 3.2kg, which I am sure you will agree is small enough). The so called Teacup Yorkies are the tiny Yorkies that puppymills and backyard breeders breed using the runts of the litter – they call them Teacup to fool the unsuspecting public into believing they are getting something special. Actually what they are getting is an ill-bred, substandard unhealth tested runt.
